The Head of the Family Group




In traditional African setting, a compound comprises of two or four nuclear family groups, with a head.

The head mediates in conflict among members, which might not have been resolved  by individual heads of the nuclear family.


Also there are heads of villages and towns. Such heads include the Oba in Yorubaland, Obi in Igboland and Emir in Hausa/Fulani land.

Formerly, the heads were responsible for the collection of taxes, general administration and governance.

But presently their roles are advisory.

Cold sauces

Mayonnaise sauce Recipe 1 yolk of egg 2 tablespoon vinegar 150ml salad oil salt nd pepper to taste 1)Separate the yolk carefully from the white. Mix the yolk and season. 2)Add the oil, drop by drop, stirring regularly. The sauce will become thickened, add a few drops of vinegar, if the sauce is too thick. 3)When thick and smooth, add the vinegar slowly, stirring regularly.
